New Series: Open Discourse ๐Ÿ’ญ

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all having a wonderful day. I know that things are still iffy in the world, but they will get better, even if it doesn’t seem like it. The goal for today was to start open discussions. This is not part of the One Planet series. It is an open forum and safe space to talk about various topics/ask questions in a mature manner, without judgment, and backed by science and personal experiences.

๐ŸŒŽ One Planet ๐ŸŒ

Happy March! I’ve decided to start a new mini-blog-series (if you have a more catchy title, let me know) about the planet. More specifically, the planet as it is, how we impact it, and what we can do help reverse the damage we have caused and limit impact in the future. Humans are the only creatures on this planet capable of putting an end to the continual destruction we cause, or at the very least, minimizing future damage. Everything we do, *purchase, consume, etc. impacts Earth in some form or another, whether we like it or not. While we have made strides in some areas, such as protecting endangered species, we have taken backwards leaps in others– deforestation, for one. Since many of us no longer live off the land, it is easy to see how we can become disconnected from the impact we have on the environment. Discussions will include personal experiences and thoughts as well as science-based and peer-reviewed research (with links when they’re available). There is a disclaimer at the bottom of this post as I want to be completely transparent and genuine as possible.

Zero Spending… Almost

There is “No Spend November” where people challenge themselves to buy nothing, aside from essentials, for the month. Since I didn’t really adhere to it like I’d planned, I’ve been on a re-start. Once a no-spend habit is established, it can be easier to have that spill over throughout the year. With this year being primarily a stay-in, I have realized how much frivolous spending I had done in the past. Even though we still spend money on WoW subscriptions we aren’t buying other things, like random decor and (for me) loads of reusables, as we had in the past. When I first started going low-waste, I went out and bought loads of reusable produce bags, jars, straws, etc.

Valentine’s Day 2021 ๐Ÿ’

As with everything else since this time last year, Valentine’s Day is looking a bit different. Thus far, the weekend has been promising: Gaming, movies, and (sorta fancy) dinner tomorrow. I kicked off Valentine’s Day weekend by participating in the 2021 Love is in the Air event (now through 02/22/2021) on WoW. If you have read the posts and are looking for Lovely Charms at level 60, kill the mobs in the Shadowlands and in Torghast. The drop rate isn’t nearly what it used to be (last year I obtained several hundred from running Eye of Azshara), but every charm adds up.

Happy February!

We are entering the second month of 2021. January flew by. If everything goes according to plan, there will be some big changes this month. The focus of today’s post is de-cluttering (again). I have gone back-and-forth with minimalism for awhile. I’ve been a collector for so long that old habits have proven hard to break. That being said, it has gotten easier with time. While some people can change overnight, it’s less easy for others. It is all a work in progress.

๐ŸŒž Some of My Favorite Things ๐ŸŒ™

Finding the right products for your skin can be a tedious task. Since my skin reacts when the weather changes, I’ve been trying out some products to help combat my skin’s issues. As much as I don’t like the waste, there was no other way to test out skincare. I was able to post up the items that didn’t work in the Buy Nothing group so they didn’t get tossed. The following are some of the products that I love.

Future Plans

To those of you who have been with me, and stuck around, I wanted to thank you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life, even if it’s only in a small way, and for taking the time out of your day to read my posts. This article is all about future plans in my personal life and with the blog. Also, I think I’m about ready to make my big announcement…well, it’s a big deal to me.

Happy New Year! ๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿพ

It is 2021! The past year was tumultuous to say the least. While I don’t usually make resolutions, 2020 had me realize that I want to make a few changes. First, I’m going to paint this weekend. I’ve been saying that for the last 8 months, and really need to just do it. Even though we don’t need a new year for a fresh start, it’ll be nice to kick off the new year with a new look. Here is a look at some of the transitions and adjustments I’ll make going into 2021:

Blogmas, Day 31: What a Year!

So, 2020 has been a hell of a year, eh? The beginning of the year held so much promise, which quickly turned into living in some sort of a horror film. I always knew that there would be something major to happen in my lifetime. History has shown some interesting patterns. To be honest, out of the two, I figured it would be war, not a pandemic, that I’d see. I initially thought it would be interesting to document my experiences, but I really didn’t want it to be a focus on here. There is enough being discussed on the news and in other blogs/vlogs. I wanted this to be a space where you could get away from all of that, even if it was just for a minute.

Blogmas, Days 26-30: Under the Weather

My kitty was all tuckered out after we opened gifts.

And just like that, Christmas is over. There is so much leading up to it, and *BAM* the day is done. We had a nice Christmas with those in our household, and did gift exchanges via porch pick-up/drop-off so we didn’t have to interact with anyone. It’s the little things you take for granted.
