Brewfest + Shadowlands Delayed!

Darphynia, hanging out on a Brwefest wreath.

Brewfest is on! I meant to post about it when it started. From now until 10/06/2020, head on over to the area just outside Ironforge (Alliance) or Orgrimmar (Horde) to participate in fun games, try your hand at ram racing (daily), defeat Coren Direbrew (daily), and chow down at the eating contest! Win the eating contest 5 times, and trade in your trophies for the Brewfest Chowdown Trophy. Wowhead has a comprehensive guide to Brewfest that you can view here.

Jenafur Found!

I know this image looks weird. I took a photo with my phone since I use different computers for working & gaming.

Today, in the Secret Finder discord, Jenafur was found. After nearly a year of searching, Amara can finally be reunited with her cat. Best of all, you get to keep her as your very own battle pet! Once you talk to Amara, head over to Return to Karazhan. Here is the guide on Wowhead. I recommend killing all mobs first, then running back to the banquet hall to get the food items. You don’t have to kill Moroes unless you trigger him. You do have to complete the opera house boss fight. I used the Wowhead guide for the food gathering and placement. Here are the steps I took to obtain Jenafur:

FabFitFun: Fall 2020

With the shift in focus to all things eco-friendly, I’m noticing that more and more companies are including eco-friendly products in their subscription boxes…well, seemingly eco-friendly. I received the fall FabFitFun (FFF) box about a week ago, and have been a subscriber pretty much since FFF began. As with other subscription boxes, the quality has begun a downward spiral.

I Proposed!

Before you ask, I don’t have pictures. In all honesty, I didn’t think to take them. A few years ago my fiancé proposed to me during our trip to Walt Disney World. We had talked about it, so I knew that it would happen during the trip, but didn’t know how nor the exact day. My fiancé, however, did not expect a thing. I figured that proposals shouldn’t be one-sided. Plus, I don’t think it was fair that custom pretty much dictates only one person gets an engagement ring. I like equality. So, I went and got a ring, and decided to take the opportunity at BlizzCon 2018.

Happy September!

Fall is just around the corner. Soon the leaves will begin to turn. What were once green leaves will alter their color to yellow, orange, red, purple, and brown. The landscape will be a kaleidoscope of cozy fall hues . The transition from the long, warm summer nights to the cooler weather that follows is a welcomed change. That being said, even though I would like to break out some clothes for the cooler weather, the summer heat hasn’t finished with us yet. It will be in the low 100s the rest of this week.

PhD 101: Head-Start

It may seem a bit overwhelming to plan so many things ahead of time, but trust me, you’ll thank yourself for doing it. Now we jump ahead to the dissertation phase. More likely than not it’ll be a few years before you get to that point, but it’s not too late to plan. You might be thinking that it’s a bit too soon to bombard your brain with so much information, but it’s not. It also won’t be that painful, as long as you’re not waiting until the last minute. Your topic will change over time, especially once you start getting feedback. You may even change the topic altogether, and that’s okay too.

Shadowlands Official Release Date Trailer!

Since the Shadowlands preview at BlizzCon 2019, as they have been attempting to save Azeroth, players have been eagerly awaiting release date information. From level squishes to new covenants, much awaits us in the Shadowlands. As Sylvanas seized the Helm of Domination from Bolvar, many of us figured she would simply don a new look. Oh no. We were silly to think that, especially given how she has been acting. Instead, the Banshee Queen broke the helm, splintering the gateway between life and death.

Low-Waste in a Pandemic

Since the stay-in was issued (was it February or March?) it has been difficult to maintain a low-waste lifestyle. I covered this during Plastic-Free July. The stores where I live began to use more plastic packaging, and until things are under control, change to that won’t come soon. That being said, there are still ways to stay low-waste even when all seems lost.

PhD 101: Coursework & Planning

When you log in, often times you have to acknowledge some sort of courseroom/faculty expectations.  Be sure to read them fully.  The last thing you want is to be docked for acknowledging an agreement you didn’t read.  In the courseroom, the required course materials, syllabus, professor expectations, and the expectations of the school, will be provided. I highly recommend that you go over each module so you know what to expect work-wise. If you need to, print it out. Printing out everything for the course, as soon as the room opened, helped me to plan out the weeks of work. Also, if there are additional materials that you will need, you should receive an e-mail prior to the courseroom opening so you can buy them in advance.
