Every year I think of everything I want to do and what I’ve accomplished. Admittedly, there hasn’t been much in the way of accomplishments this year. Well, there is one thing: After years of studying, writing, and researching, I finally have my PhD! You can read about that here. As excited as I was, it didn’t feel like this giant weight off my shoulders as I thought it would have been. That being said, I’m so glad to be done. Now I’m getting sidetracked. The year in review (my last Blogmas post) will include a non-holiday bucket list. This post is a bit different because it focuses specifically on the holidays. Here is my holiday bucket list for 2020:
1. Winter Veil Feast
I love to shop for groceries, and I love to cook. This year, my fiancé and I are tasked with the holiday dinner. We have a partial menu, but need to figure out the rest. The dinner is on my list because it’s something I’ve yet to do. In the past it was always a family potluck.
2. Boat Parade
Every year, in the beach cities, there are boat parades. People dress up their boats with thousands of twinkling lights. Some are themed; others are not. I’ve never been, and even though I’m overly sure I won’t go this year (stay safe at home!), I will see it someday.
3. Theme the Room/Office
This year I want to transform my room/office (it’s all in one small space) into a winter wonderland. It might sound cheesy, but with all of the crap going on in the world, it would be nice to be in a place that sparks happiness. It’s all about the little things.
4. Festive Food
Okay, this will sound a bit odd, but I want to get a jump on next year. What better way to start next year than with flavorful extracts, sugars, and salts that fill your senses with the spirit of the holidays?! They also make tasty gifts, so it’s a win-win! I also want to try my hand at holiday food from around the world… Maybe that will be part of our Winter Veil Feast this year.
I guess that’s really it. There isn’t much on it. Well, right now there isn’t. Do you have a holiday bucket list? If you do, let me know what’s on your list.
Peace & Love, always!
