Since the Shadowlands preview at BlizzCon 2019, as they have been attempting to save Azeroth, players have been eagerly awaiting release date information. From level squishes to new covenants, much awaits us in the Shadowlands. As Sylvanas seized the Helm of Domination from Bolvar, many of us figured she would simply don a new look. Oh no. We were silly to think that, especially given how she has been acting. Instead, the Banshee Queen broke the helm, splintering the gateway between life and death.
The official release date is October 27th, 2020 (EU; 26th US). It is important to keep in mind that all of us who max leveled will be squished back down to 50. The new max will be 60, but leveling is to be much faster. I suppose that’s a bit of a consolation seeing as we’ve all worked hard to get where we are. Players will also get to choose which expansion’s story they wish to play through. The idea is to decrease the overwhelming and confusing nature of having so many story lines, especially for new players. Wowhead has an informative article on leveling in Shadowlands, which you can read here.
I, personally, have been looking forward to this expansion more than any other. Not that I don’t love the others, but Shadowlands brings an interesting twist when the land of the dead is no longer separate. I tried out Shadowlands in the test realm, and holy cow! It was like The Walking Dead in Stormwind. All it takes is one bite for you to be turned into the undead, which is a cycle that is seemingly never-ending. In the next post, I will have screenshots of my time in the opening Shadowlands quest line.
What did you think of the trailer? Are you as excited as we are for the arrival of Shadowlands?
Peace & Love, always!
