Finding the right products for your skin can be a tedious task. Since my skin reacts when the weather changes, I’ve been trying out some products to help combat my skin’s issues. As much as I don’t like the waste, there was no other way to test out skincare. I was able to post up the items that didn’t work in the Buy Nothing group so they didn’t get tossed. The following are some of the products that I love.

I was given the opportunity to try OZ Naturals Ultra Ageless Eye Creme. This light-weight, hydrating cream is a wonderful addition to my skin routine. After cleansing and toning, I apply this product in the morning and at night, under my eyes and on top of my eyelids. Its formula absorbs fast into my skin without leaving any sort of greasy film. The product has smoothed out my skin over the time I have been using it (about a month), but I have not yet noticed a change in the dark circles under my eyes. The puffiness, however, has decreased considerably as have the fine lines. I can also use the cream on other areas of my face that need a little more hydration. I am hoping for the dark circles to diminish, which may happen the longer I use the eye cream. Who doesn’t love a multi-functional product? For the price, you get quite a bit of product, too, which is another plus. I should note that I did not notice instant results. It took about two weeks before I started to see results. COOLA Suncare
I am always on the lookout for a high quality SPF brand, and I really love COOLA. COOLA is an organic suncare company that focuses on quality suncare free of phthalates, parabens, petroleum, and paba. COOLA also donates to the Melanoma Research Alliance and Healthy Child Healthy World. To learn more about the company, click here.
They were amazing, and sent me a couple of products to try out. One has the scent of plumeria (body), and the other is unscented (face). Plumeria reminds me of strolling up and down the beach in Waikiki when my family and I went a few years ago. Don’t you just love when scents bring back happy memories? The unscented face suncare is great because it absorbs fast and is not sticky. Because it is unscented, it does not irritate my nostrils. Sometimes, scented face products can be a bit nauseating, don’t you think?

COOLA offers a wide array of SPF products including: sprays, lotions, lip care, and a new makeup setting spray. COOLA products are not sticky nor greasy, which is wonderful because so many brands are one, the other, or both. My face and body are never left feeling like an oil slick. There is no white residue to worry about because it all sinks in. My legs and arms never stick to my clothes while I’m getting ready, and I couldn’t be happier. There is something for everyone, even the kids! Not sure what to try? You can always purchase the travel kit ($39.99). It comes with TSA-approved sizes of the following: Piña Colada spray, full-sized lip care, after sun lotion, and cucumber face moisturizer. I can’t wait to try out the other products they offer. Don’t forget: ALWAYS protect your skin. Even when it is overcast, apply some sunscreen.
Stay beautiful!
Taking Up a Little Less Space in the Landfill with Facekins

I was sent a sample of Facekins to try out, and I am in L-O-V-E! For those of you who don’t know, Facekins are washable, reusable fabric facial pads.
I took these with me while I worked camp, and they were such a blessing! I didn’t have to gauge the amount of cotton facial pads and cotton balls I would need, and the Facekins took up far less room in my kit! Since I wash my face at least twice a day (morning, night, and in the shower of course!) and always use makeup remover and toner, I go through a ton of cotton. Okay, not literally a ton, but you know what I mean. It is one of the softest products to ever touch my face! It reminded me of something that would be used during a luxury spa treatment.
I also found myself using less product. At first, I thought it was too good to be true Facekins, but no. I tested out how far one spray of toner would go on a cotton pad versus the Facekins. Both items were the round-shape, and were about the same in width. I tried to do things as error- and bias-free as possible. I used the same amount of pressure on the spray nozzle, held the spray bottle at the same distance, and as I said, just one spray. To make sure that the temperature didn’t affect the outcome, both products were used within a few minutes of each other. My results were that the cotton pad, even though it distributed the product fairly evenly in the beginning, it was nearly gone by the time I was done. The product on the Facekins pad, however, lasted throughout the application process, which was the same as the process for the cotton pad, and is most likely due to its composition.
Here is how my experience went (and I still do this at home):
– Morning routine, side 1 used.
– Night routine, side 2 used.
– Wash after night routine.
– Let it air dry while I slept.
– Repeat.
Now, of course you can throw them in the washing machine. Because of our location, I couldn’t do that, but it also wasn’t necessary. I can see how useful having Facekins are. For those with stubble, these are a wonderful option because you won’t have a bunch of cotton fibers hanging around.
I love that they are:
– Ultra-plush
– Reusable
– Come in a variety of shapes & sizes
– Multifunctional
– Soft enough for those with very sensitive skin
– Saves money (I won’t have to spend near that much on cotton anymore)
– Saves landfill space
– Handmade and packaged in Southern California
Ladies, they also make nursing pads! They help to alleviate soreness, and even work for women who are sensitive before/during menstruation.
Thank you so much, Connie!
