It is that time of year again. Plastic-Free July is in full-swing. Even though there aren’t many plastic-free package options, regarding food, available in my area I am going to do my best to limit the amount of plastic packaging brought in (as always, medical necessities do not count). I should note, while we’re on the subject of medicine, if you have a disability that requires you to use single-use plastic items, this may not be a challenge you can participate in. That is okay. You should never feel shame nor guilt, and you shouldn’t be bullied by ableists.

đȘ Tried & Tested: Leaf Razor
I received my items from Package Free Shop that included the Leaf razor and Kooshoo organic hair ties. There will be a separate review for the hair ties once Iâve had more time with them. I bought the shave bundle (in gold), which saved some money, and used some points to lower the price further. Iâm glad I did.

We are living in very interesting times.  Just when grocery stores were opening up to the idea of customers bringing their own containers and bags in, we are hit with a pandemic.  Scientists are still finding out new elements of it, which is why certain statements have changed over time.  Due to safety concerns, most places where I live no longer accept personal packaging for bulk bin products nor reusable bags brought from home.  Unfortunately, this is our new ânormalâ for the time being (strictly regarding grocery shopping).

With 5 days left of Plastic-Free July, you should know that there is no such thing as perfect when it comes to living plastic-free. This post is solely centered on plastic-free and zero-waste/low-waste lifestyles.

I have spent the last few days decluttering. I have a game plan for further decluttering, but it might have to wait until after the weather cools down. Anyway, not only did I work on decluttering the just in case items, unused skincare and makeup (luckily I was able to gift them), but the plastic containers as well. We always kept them, mostly for leftovers or sending food home with others. Since switching to glass and stainless steel, I don’t have a need for the other containers. Even though it is better to continue to use what you have, we simply have too many. After gifting some of the plastic containers we recycled the rest. Since there are still things, like plant butters, that we purchase in plastic (they only come in plastic tubs), it’s not like we don’t run across food containers again.

I really wish that bodily functions were talked about more. That being said, this is going to be all about periods, so if it’s not your thing, check out some of my other posts. My personal experience will be discussed, as well as how I have a less crappy period. It’s a long one, so buckle up! You’re in for a bit of a read.
