Welcome to another Blogmas! I’m a little bit behind, so I’ll do my best to catch up this weekend. Christmas is fast approaching. It’s that time of year when shelves are lined with themed decor, kitchenware, etc., and stores are filled with people shopping for everyone on their holiday list(s). It seems that with each passing year, there are more and more goods to choose from, which can be overwhelming. Personally, I love giving and receiving practical gifts because they are long-lasting and often budget-friendly. There is something for everyone, whether homemade or not. The reality is that it’s truly the thought that counts. Even a card, which many would think “isn’t enough,” is special and appreciated. Here are some of my top picks for gifting this holiday season. *This post contains affiliate and referral links.

🎃 Spooky Season 2024 👻

There are a few days until Halloween, and fall is in full swing! Not only is fall my favorite season, but it is also home to my favorite holiday. I find the rich fall colors, and being able to cozy up in a warm sweater with some hot apple cider, satisfyingly comforting. Decorations comprised of jack-o-lanterns, spiders, cobwebs, and black cats set the stage for another spooky season. Creature Features are plentiful and help put me in the Halloween spirit. This year, I went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood for the first time. Just a side note: Everything here is my own opinion and not affiliated with the event or anyone connected to it.

As 2022 comes to a close, so does the window for getting gifts together–Christmas is just 6 days away! Here are some last-minute gifts for anyone on your list. Many of these are handmade and (hopefully) budget-friendly. You can find most of the ingredients at your local dollar stores. With food costs continuing to rise, food may be more costly than gift cards, candles, etc. I know I mentioned Christmas, but these gifts can be for any holiday you celebrate. If you celebrate a holiday, or holidays, other than Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. You don’t necessarily have to, but I recommend an ingredient for anything food-related that you make, just in case anyone happens to have sensitivities, allergies, or dietary restrictions.

An Update in Autumn + Holiday Gift Ideas
Hi, everyone! It has been quite some time. My posting, as of late, has been far less than usual. Since testing positive for COVID back in June, I haven’t felt great most days, and the days that are good have been spent crafting for a new project. I meant to provide some updates last week and simply didn’t get around to it.

☁️Cooler Weather & Last-Minute Gift Ideas🍪
It looks like we are finally in for some cooler weather, and possibly definitely rain, this week. The plan is to get some of the storage unit cleaned out before temperatures go back up. We have so much that others could put to good use, and we’d like to rid ourselves of the added expense. Ideally, I’d like to get the furniture and box of clothes out since they are the stored items most affected by the weather. Productivity-wise, I made cookie dough to freeze until just before Christmas. I also got the other treats made and handed out for the most part. Every year we give out baked goods to friends and family. All I need are either tins or plates since I used the last of what we had last year.
🍂The End and The Beginning❄️

The first week of December has already passed! As you can see, this post should have gone up on the 2nd, but I forgot to schedule it. It was one of those weeks. Since the last part of No-Spend November ended at the beginning of last week, this is going to be very short. We bought $100 of gifts and still have three people left, which will be easy since we’re giving gift cards and baked goods. I’d say that I love the cooler weather, but it’s going to be in the mid-70s to low-80s this week. Although, truth be told, if I had to choose I’d rather have the warmer weather than freezing cold, stormy weather. Back to the end of No-Spend November. Food aside, we spent around $200 on items that were not necessary, most of which were holiday gifts.

And just like that, Christmas is over. There is so much leading up to it, and *BAM* the day is done. We had a nice Christmas with those in our household, and did gift exchanges via porch pick-up/drop-off so we didn’t have to interact with anyone. It’s the little things you take for granted.

Feast of Winter Veil has officially arrived in WoW. From 12/16/2020-01/02/2020, take part in festivities, decorate your garrison, dress up, and indulge in Winter Veil’s finest treats. This year I’m incredibly excited because Pepe’s Greatfather Winter costume is available! Now, when you summon him, he could be dressed up as Greatfather Winter, complete with a miniature mustache/beard and present. If you would like more in-depth information, check out Wowhead’s guide here.

If you are just joining me, Happy Holidays! The last couple of days have been spent finalizing gifts, dropping items off, and searching for this movie that has been bugging me for ages. Side story: I’ve tried every search possible, to no avail. I’ve been really into movies from the 1920s to about the mid-1960s. When time permits I end my days with a movie (and try not to fall asleep). It’s so interesting to see how the areas, fashion, genres, talent, and film styles have changed over time. Anyway, I saw part of a film, can only remember part of it, and all searches have come up with nothing about it. Go figure.

This is going to be a short post. As Christmas grows nearer, more and more holiday programming and music can be heard. Sometimes it’s nice to sit in front of the tree, which you work to decorate, with a warm drink and holiday tunes playing softly in the background. Here are some of my favorite holiday albums and films that you can enjoy now and whenever you want a holiday pick-me-up. I have linked to YouTube if possible, but all rights are property of their respective owners:
