A few days ago I discussed the use of silicone, the importance of purchasing quality silicone, and touched on the debate on whether or not it is sustainable. Today is a discussion on glass. While glass is sustainable as it is fully recyclable, there is a point when it isn’t as sustainable as the zero-waste community would like you to think. Purchasing cases of new glass jars can be tempting, especially when you strive to be was plastic-free as possible, but that’s not sustainable. Purchasing more, and throwing away or recycling the glass you currently have, versus simply using what you have. The aesthetic is nice to look at, but it’s not practical and defeats the purpose of being more sustainable.

The title also happens to be the name of our shop, which I mentioned in the last update post. Part of why I’ve been a bit behind here is because we have been working on a few large custom orders. If you’d like, you can check out our stock here. Right now we are working on re-branding, so most of our current stock is on sale. We will be focusing on fan-art and custom stencils, decals, stickers, and shirts. Additionally, hand-etched glassware, hand-painted magnets & totes, and other such wares will be up shortly. Side note: Our lead time for custom orders, depending on the order size and artwork, is at least 2 weeks. Holiday gift sets will be available starting Monday! At the moment we are working on some holiday-specific products. Currently, all glassware purchases will include a stainless steel reusable straw, while supplies last.
