🥳 A May Birthday 🎂

It’s that time of year again. In a few days I’ll be marking another “trip around the sun”. As I get older the time goes by faster. There is an adage that goes, “Youth is wasted on the young” and it’s true. There is so much I hope to be able to do in this life. For me, birthdays are a reminder of what I want to accomplish while I’m able to. They are also a reminder of my own mortality. It probably sounds morbid, but it doesn’t have to be and isn’t in my case.

Birthday 2020

This year I made dinner. Gennaro’s Tuscan Chicken from his collaboration with Citalia (all rights to the owner), with local chicken, rosemary, garlic, and potatoes. Gennaro served his with rustic bread, but I went and got some miniature mixed potatoes. I tossed them in with the chicken, and cooked per the instructions. Everything was perfect! Hands down one of the tastiest dishes I’ve made in awhile. If you’re interested in giving it a whirl, I’ve posted the video below.

May Day & Birthday Planning

Today is May Day, and the countdown to my birthday! Hard to believe it’s already May. Some of the days are flying by, but others are moving “slower than molasses in January”. The stay-in is still in place, but you would never know it. Anyway, yours truly has a birthday coming up, but, an outing is out of the question. Depending on the weather (the forecast listed a high of 93, but I’m hoping it’ll be cooler), I think I’ll bring out the pop-up tent and have an outdoor lunch in the backyard, followed by a Warcraft-themed dinner. Maybe tea sandwiches, mini foods, and maybe a cheesecake for lunch… Haha, oh the struggle when you love food so much.

Every year I get myself a little something. This year, I’ve ordered a Klean Kanteen tumbler, two Swag Bags and a Vejibag. Hopefully the bags extend the life of the produce we get. I will have a review of the bags after a 30-day trial. Side note: I’d like to get some wholesale fruit and veg. I’m really into fermenting and making jams/fruit spreads, so wholesale seems to be the best way to go. That’s all for now. Hope you all have an amazing rest of the day.
