Here is a list of low-waste, zero-waste, and bulk shops in case you are looking for some alternatives. I’ll try to update the list every week or so. The affiliate, ambassadors and referral links/codes are marked (*). These links provide a small commission from purchases at no additional cost to you. Commission from links/codes are used to provide products for future posts and giveaways. Some referral and promotional links/codes provide some sort of compensation that can only be used within the company (i.e. credit specifically for a particular item on a brand’s website).
Shopping
I cannot say enough about Blueland’s line of products. So far, I have tried (and love) their household cleaners. Their soap, even though I found it a bit drying, was loved by everyone who tried it. I, typically, will never tell people to stay away from something because my experience could be vastly different that of others. All of Blueland’s products, from tablets/powders to packaging, are all zero-waste. Yes, the bottles are plastic, but designed to be used indefinitely.
*dropps
I have been using dropps for about 6 months, maybe a little longer. I use the small load unscented laundry detergent, which has been great. I haven’t noticed a change in clothes, wear, nor any negative effects on the washing machine. Dropps come packaged in a cardboard box, sometimes with a directions insert, depending on what you’ve added to your order. There has been some issue about the use of polyvinyl alcohol film (PVOH), a synthetic polymer are added to the pod’s membrane. Read more about PVOH here. *EarthHero (save 10% on select purchases with code darphynia)
EarthHero is a one-stop-shop for all things low-waste. It’s like Amazon for those of us who live a low- or zero-waste lifestyle. Have a friend or family member who is just starting out? EarthHero has items in every category so you can make the perfect gift basket. As always, there is free shipping for purchases $50+. **Discount cannot be used on sale items, can’t be paired with other coupons, and can’t be used on Gift Cards, TerraCycle boxes, Zeal Optics, nor Naturepedic products.
Life Without Plastic offers plastic-free merchandise shipped in low-waste packing material. They offer all sorts of goods for every age. Do you have a store? Life Without Plastic can help you stock up on your plastic-free needs with their wholesale department.
Package Free, like EarthHero, is a one-stop-shop for low-waste and zero-waste items. My favorite item is the toilet brush with the edge cleaner. The handle is a bit shorter than traditional wands, but the edge cleaner makes getting the area under the rim of the toilet a breeze.
