World Ocean Day 2021

This one is going to be very short. Anyone who knows me knows that I love the beach. It feels like home away from home, and I want to do what I can to protect it. Unfortunately I won’t be participating in any beach events this year, but I’ll start up again once it’s safe to do so. This year, World Ocean Day (formerly World Oceans Day) is Tuesday, June 8th. We need the ocean to survive. Ocean currents help to regulate the climate, move warm and cold water, and so much more (NOAA Ocean Exploration, 2021).

While everything goes through cycles, it’s like we are speeding up the process. What can we do to help slow that process? How can we help our oceans recover from the years of damage that humans have done to it? As humans, we help to create damage. It’s about time we used our brain power for good and start to help out the planet. Since everything has been a bit different the past year and a half, there are fewer events being held. If you’d like to, please take a moment to sign the 30×30 petition. This petition calls for protecting at least 30% of the ocean, on this planet, by 2030.

Peace & Love, always!
