Lazy Sunday

Today is a beautiful, overcast, cool, windy day. The fog has rolled in a bit, and we can’t see the mountains, that we typically can, from the backyard. Most people prefer bright, sunny weather. While I prefer the heat, I’m a much bigger fan of overcast days than those that are sunny. Today is the kind of day that makes me want to be outside from sun-up to sun-down. Instead, it turned out to be a lazy Sunday.

Do you ever have those days where you plan on being productive, but things just don’t pan out; and pretty soon, you’re looking at the time, wondering where the day went? This has turned out to be one of those days. I try to use the time during the weekend to catch up on whatever needs doing around the house. Laundry, tidying up, etc. The most that got done was the dishes. On the plus-side, I spent some well-needed time with my fur-babies, and came up with some ideas for future projects that will be revealed soon, if everything goes according to plan.

We had a birthday, and since nothing was really planned– not that we could do much in the current state of things, anyway– we picked up dinner from a local KBBQ place to celebrate. It was a long time since we last ordered from them. We set up the table and could go at our own pace. Honestly, I thought we would miss eating out far more than we do (there was a general discussion, and that was the consensus). The birthday person loved it, and was very surprised, which was nice. I love when people are genuinely pleased.

So that was pretty much it. About 10 minutes of brainstorming and dinner. Now that I have to be up in a few hours, I’m organizing things so my morning isn’t rushed. In my work life, everything must be organized and prepared the night before. I have no clue how people can be ready in 5 minutes (to be honest, I’m a bit envious). My routine is to get ready, take my AM medications, make sure my workspace is in order, and grab some tea and fruit/veg. At the end of my workday, I relax with a video, think about what the next meal will be…I think I’ll make a red curry tomorrow…and go to whatever appointments there are. Sounds fun, eh?

I’m kind of kicking myself a bit for not being more productive. Since it’s not hot and sunny, it’s the perfect time to sort through the garage/storage and get rid of anything that hasn’t been used in awhile. I’ve spoken about it for months now, and really wish I had the car space to clear out storage. Many things in it haven’t been touched and could be loved by someone else. There are also some things that I want to get out to use, but instead of doing so, I’ve listened to people say to wait until [fill in the blank] and now I’m on a very short timeframe to do much of anything. That’s for another post. I hope you’ve had a relaxing weekend. If your weekend comes during the week, I hope you get a chance to take a breather.

Peace & Love, always!
