Blogmas, Days 7-11: Motivation…or Lack Thereof

The Christmas tree at Primm.

First off, Happy Hanukkah. For those of you who celebrate Hanukkah, I hope you have a wonderful and safe festival week 🕎 It has been five days since my last post. To be honest, I haven’t had the motivation. Between being in a creativity drought, and not feeling all that great, there just hasn’t been the drive. On the plus-side, I’ve been working on some new projects that should be taking off before the end of the year. We are also working on editing a few videos, which is admittedly taking longer than anticipated, but we’ll have those up before the new year.

Yesterday we decorated the tree. Typically, the house looks like a holiday boutique store, but since we aren’t having the typical festivities, we didn’t want to stress too much over putting everything up. There are fewer decorations, but with the tree as fragrant as it is, it reminds me of Christmastime from when I was a child. We didn’t put up the fake tree this year. As pretty as it is, there is so much work involved that this year we decided to only have the real deal.

It’s hard to believe Christmas is two weeks away. The months feel like they’re flying by, even with all of the goings on in the world. Even though it’s a waste of gas, I love driving around to see all of the lights that people put up. We used to go walking around the beach cities, but with this virus, we’re safer in the car. Some of my favorite memories are of walking around the communities on the water, grabbing some soy hot chocolate at Starbucks, and finishing the night with some snacks at Cha for Tea. The beach holds fond memories.

What else? I’m getting gifts sorted out, and should be done by the weekend. Since we’re making and delivering the gifts, I won’t be making the baked goods until the week of. We are expecting some big changes in the next year, which are both exciting and slightly nerve-wracking. If things pan out, I’ll have a pretty big announcement in 2021. Along with the video content, there will be a Patreon page set up. There is absolutely no obligation to contribute. I’m all about transparency regarding this blog. Patreon donations will go towards creating content and give subscribers early access to posts, vlogs, and exclusive giveaways.

Peace & Love, always!
