Happy September!

Fall is just around the corner. Soon the leaves will begin to turn. What were once green leaves will alter their color to yellow, orange, red, purple, and brown. The landscape will be a kaleidoscope of cozy fall hues . The transition from the long, warm summer nights to the cooler weather that follows is a welcomed change. That being said, even though I would like to break out some clothes for the cooler weather, the summer heat hasn’t finished with us yet. It will be in the low 100s the rest of this week.

Pumpkin spice is already popping up everywhere. Now, don’t get me wrong. I like it, but it’s all over the place. Candles, fragrances, drinks, food…nothing is safe from that blend of spices. Personally, I like a nice spiced apple crumble, and would like to see apple pie spice be the next big trend. Later on I will have some recipes posted, if I can get my “ducks in a row”.

Every year I channel my inner child and watch A Disney Halloween. I remember being so excited when it would come on. Never in a million years did I foresee a future when we could watch programs and listen to music like we can now… Haha. I feel like I might be showing my age a bit. Anyway, everything Halloween-themed comes out. Cartoons (yes, I love cartoons– who says there just for kids?!), horror films, and everything else related. That being said, the minimal decor won’t be up until October. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and the most underrated, in my opinion.

With Halloween decorations, costumes, and candy coming out earlier and earlier, I purposely wait until September to begin anything related. No, there isn’t any set rule, but somehow it makes it a little more magical when Halloween-themed programs and decorations aren’t displayed in beforehand. What is your favorite holiday, and how do you kick off your favorite holiday season?

Peace & Love, always!
