Day 1 (kinda): Some Rain & Self-Quarantine 🌧

It’s raining now, and will continue to rain through parts of tomorrow. The streets are pretty quiet, all things considered, and we are trying to keep busy when we’re not working. I’m curious to see how things go when life starts getting back to normal, and what new protocols will become standard. These are definitely interesting times. I also wonder what books will say about this whole period. We have some things to ship off, but are a bit leery to with the added restrictions put in place. The items are fine to send, and customs needs to do what they can to protect people, we just don’t want it to sit there for a month or more.

Today is, technically the second day, of our self-imposed quarantine. However, before that, I had only been out a couple of times in the past week for grocery runs. Otherwise, it was inside for us. I wish we could be out, at least for a bit, because being house-bound (when it’s not voluntary) is awful. It reminds me of when I was out on a no-caffeine (and yes, that includes chocolate) regimen for a period of time while they assessed some health issues I was going through, and then that’s all I wanted. That also meant no decaf teas or coffees because they do have a small amount of caffeine in them. In my experience, it has always been more rough when told not to, or to, do something versus the situation being voluntary. Can we go outside? Sure, but it’s not advised. Okay, enough with this. Coverage of this virus is everywhere, and we want this to be a place you can come to where it’s not thrown in your face. If it’s relevant, one thing we will do is let you all know how we get on each day on this stay-in.

Today wasn’t as productive as I’d hoped. I wasn’t able to get much editing done. The “quiet” window is pretty short. For me, it’s hard to concentrate in the house anyway, and having it be rather loud 90% of the time isn’t making things easier. I marinated some kalbi, started sorting through and cleaning out the pantry. I also made a list of things we’ll need for the next couple of weeks. Well, not need per se, but hopefully they’re in stock. My fiancé might not like it, but with the meat shortage, it’ll be plant-based proteins for awhile. That’s all for today.

Peace & Love, always!
