I have to say that, of the recent seasons, this box is probably my least favorite. Typically, I like at least 90% of what the box contains. That’s not the case this time. Even though the box is valued at $463.95, of the 10 products that were in this summer edition, I liked about half. I chose the mandala towel, resistance bands, nesting bowls, and the mystery item (it ended up being a face cleansing oil). I also added on the face masks.

111Skin face masks ($160). I used one the other day– It was okay, but I’m not sure that they really do anything. Because of the shape and size of the mask, I also had to cut it in areas (especially around the nose and eyes) for it to fit properly. Each box also contained invisibobble hair bands, Generation Clay face mask, Whish foot mask, Grace & Stella rose face mist, and a Hello Fresh discount card.

The Vix lotus towel ($50) is one of my favorite items. It is large enough for me to wrap around by waist, and it’s thin enough to travel with. Don’t be fooled by it’s stated size. The site says it is 59′, when they mean 59″. Hahaha, can you imagine if it was 59 feet?! The towel is 100% polyester, absorbs well, and is machine washable.

Next up are the west elm Indigo Tie-Dye Nesting Bowls ($39). They are in a set of three and nest, which makes them space-saving as well as functional. The bowls hold 8, 5, and 3 fluid oz.

A fun at-home way to burn some calories while you’re at home are with the Burn 60 resistance bands ($34). You can use them individually or in a combination to create a personalized resistance workout. They also fit in any bag, so you can take them to the gym or on the road.

I picked a mystery item instead of a liquid eyeliner or hair styling cream. I received a Skin&Co truffle therapy cleansing oil ($32). Their Capri shower gel is lovely, so here’s hoping this cleansing oil is as nice.

Another skin item in my box was the COOLA SPF 30 setting spray ($36). At first I thought it had broken because something sounded like it was rattling around. Each glass bottle has a metal ball in it, so don’t fret if you hear the same thing. It has a light citrus-sunscreen fragrance, which can be irritating to the skin and senses, if you are more sensitive. On the plus-side, it dries fast and keeps makeup set all day.

I was excited to see the invisibobble hair bands in this box. The duo pack ($16) comes with a total of 6 bands: 3 nude and 3 clear. I’ve tried this brand as well as one of the many off-brands. It’s amazing how two items that look identical can have such different textures, staying power, etc. While these can snag a bit when I take them out, they hold my hair up for at least 6 hours. It’s a tradeoff. There is something to note about these types of hairbands. They tend to stretch, and stay stretched, with very little use. The site mentions that applying heat (i.e. hot water, set out in the sun, etc.) will reset the coil.

I am not a fan of Whish products. I’ve had several items in the boxes over time, and nothing has really stood out. The exfoliating foot mask ($32) included in this box has a strong artificial coconut scent, which I’m not a fan of. I’ll most likely donate this item to Project Beauty Share®.

Each box also contained a Generation Clay™ brightening clay mask ($39). I was only able to find the size on Amazon and it was several dollars less. This product contains a lot of oils which act as fragrance. Since I’m a bit more sensitive to scents, I’m not sure if this product will be for me. I also want to caution you, especially if you have sensitive skin. I’ve read several reviews mentioning burning and irritation upon application.

The last product is the rose face mist from Grace & Stella ($25.95). I’m not big on rose-scented items. They either smell like soap or like “women of a certain age”. Okay, I know that sounds like an awful stereotype, but some are relatively true (at least where I live). I was pleasantly surprised that the spray was lightly floral. The spray does not include added fragrance (aside from the rose essence) from what I could see.

The towel, resistance bands, setting spray, bowls, and hair ties are the items I found that (1) I liked and (2) I will use. Perhaps I’ll do a giveaway featuring the other items. There is also a program called Project Beauty Share®, which is a non-profit that takes new and gently used** products. They then send the products to shelters, charities, and other organizations that help women get back on their feet from various situations (i.e. abuse, addiction, displacement, etc.).
